This week in Ashford has presented a mixed emotional landscape for our community. On a positive note, we're celebrating a significant milestone: five years of dedicated service from the Margate and Ashford clinics ensuring safe arrivals for premature babies. Furthermore, a generous £5,000 donation from the Ashford Freemasons will greatly benefit Pilgrims Hospices, funding a new patient call system. Good news also arrives for residents on Mabledon Avenue, with details submitted for Fibre To The Premise installation.
However, the week has also been marked by sadness and concern. The closure of a beloved local coffee shop in the town centre has been met with disappointment. Tragically, devastating news emerged with the discovery of a body in the search for a missing woman from Ashford, and our deepest sympathies go out to her loved ones. This followed earlier concerns raised by the police for a 57-year-old woman missing for several days. Additionally, a three-car collision in Ashford resulted in injuries, prompting well wishes for those affected. Finally, there's a potential move on the horizon for the iconic Ashford town centre tank, which could be relocated to The Tank Museum in Dorset.
